We are officially in the third month of 2021. How y’all doing? Better question. How is your heart? Does the trauma of 2020 still permeate your thoughts? Has trauma been normal for you as of late?
Traumatic experiences happen to all of us in some capacity, but far too many of us have settled in our trauma. I know what it is to feel the heaviness of trauma from the loss of a loved one, or the onset of disappointment because you expected something different from your circumstance, or from God, altogether.
Perhaps, you’re just plain tired of waking up to the same scenario. Could it be, you just want to sleep again, and by sleep I mean rest. There is a HUGE difference between sleep, and rest, but I’ll save that for another blog. Maybe, you hope to have a conversation about a loved one feeling the joy of the memories you shared, instead of the sorrow of their loss.
Understand, despite how grave your trauma may be, it’s dangerous to ignore the matters of your heart. I would also admonish you to NOT entertain the lie that things can’t change. I’m a believer that change can certainly take place no matter the person, or circumstance. However, this type of change is only possible with God (Matthew 19:26).
We are weeks away from a new season. Dawn is defined as the first appearance of light in the sky before sunrise, and the beginning of a period of time, especially one considered favorable. Sis, I wrote this blog for no other reason but to alert you of the coming dawn. Please, don’t give up on the truth that comes with knowing that God is a present help in the time of trouble (Psalm 46:1).
Whatever you do in this season, it’s imperative that you prepare for the new dawn ahead. The dawn that is approaching will be marked with miracles, signs, and wonders. Peace will be as tangible as the breathe in our lungs. There is more to your life than the trauma you’ve experienced. There is more ahead in the coming days than what has been, and this breaking, won’t hurt you. It will not overtake you!
